95 Myanmar border guards cross into Bangladesh
Some 95 members of Myanmar Border Guard Police have so far crossed into Bangladesh to escape the ongoing heavy fighting in Rakhine state between the rebels and junta forces.
They arrived in Bangladesh in different groups from noon on Sunday, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has said, adding that they have been kept in a safe place and their arms and ammunitions are under the custody of BGB.
Of them, 15 Myanmar personnel were wounded and they have been given treatment.
Meanwhile, a process is already underway to send the Myanmar troops back home quickly, according to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
Bangladesh already communicated with Myanmar through the Foreign Ministry for an expedited repatriation of the troops, he said on Sunday.
